New Bedford Police Seize Gun, Ammo, Drugs
NEW BEDFORD — Members of the New Bedford Police Department gang and narcotics units took a gun and drugs off the street Thursday, as part of an investigation into a marijuana distribution service out of 46 Winsper Street, Apartment 3.
Daniel Rodriguez, 40, of that address was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Police executed a search warrant Thursday at the property and discovered a .25 caliber Valor Corp. firearm, a magazine with 10 rounds of .25 caliber ammunition, seven loose rounds of .25 caliber ammunition, 21.8 grams of marijuana, 4.7 grams of cocaine, 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, packaging materials and $1,369 in cash.
Rodriguez was arraigned Friday. Bail was set at $500.
