NEW BEDFORD — The New Bedford police narcotics unit took over seven grams of fentanyl off the street and made an arrest, following an investigation into a fentanyl distribution service out of 1086 Pleasant Street, Apartment 3.

When police approached the address, they observed the target of their search, 38-year-old David Brown of that residence, leaving the premises in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on County Street south of Linden Street.

A subsequent search of the apartment uncovered 7.2 grams of Fentanyl, packaging material, a digital scale and $224 in currency.

Brown was charged with possession of Fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of Fentanyl with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and on a warrant arrest.
