New Bedford Police Seeking Information on Dunn Crash
NEW BEDFORD — The New Bedford Police Department is seeking any information the public can provide regarding an incident this past weekend involving New Bedford Ward 3 City Councilor Hugh Dunn.
“As a result of an accident overnight Saturday involving Councilor Hugh Dunn, the NBPD has launched a review of the matter to ensure the incident was handled properly,” Acting Police Chief Paul Oliveira said in a statement released Monday afternoon. “If anyone has any information on the incident, please contact the NBPD.”
Police say the crash happened at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on South Water Street. Dunn was on the scene when officers arrived. Police say no field sobriety test was conducted at the scene but that it is not believed alcohol was a factor in the crash.
