NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police responded to two instances of the use of motor vehicles apparently under the influence of drugs on Sunday.

Police first responded to 31 Clark Street in New Bedford's Near North End at 8:45 a.m. for a report of an unconscious man behind the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of the street. Through investigation, police determined the man was under the influence of a narcotic. The man was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and will be cited for OUI drugs.

Later that afternoon, at 3:05 p.m., police were called to the Cumberland Farms at the corner of Shawmut Avenue and Hathaway Road for a report of an unresponsive man behind the wheel of his running car. First responders administered Narcan, and the man was revived and transported to St. Luke's Hospital. He will also be cited for OUI drugs.
