New Bedford Police Respond To Assaults

NEW BEDFORD — Officers were called to the scene of two separate assaults on Sunday.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of a fight at Euphoria Lounge, 289 Acushnet Ave in the city. Officers say a person told them that he was struck by a beer bottle. He was taken to St. Lukes Hospital with non-life=threatening injuries.

On Sunday evening, officers were called to an apartment at 275 State Street. Police report being told by a male that a visitor struck him with a metal object. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Officers say when they attempted to question a friend of the victim who was at the scene, he was uncooperative and told conflicting stories.

There are no reports of arrests in either incident.
