New Bedford Police Officer Honored at State House Ceremony
A New Bedford Police officer is honored for his actions at the scene of a shooting in the city earlier this year.
New Bedford Officer Jordan Ferreira was presented with the Superintendent's Commendation at a State House ceremony earlier this week for his work in apprehending two suspects fleeing the scene of a shooting.
The incident took place on April 6 when he responded to a shooting at Chancery and Court Streets. Officer Ferreira was instrumental in apprehending the two men fleeing the scene.
The men were in possession of a loaded .357 firearm. A loaded 9mm firearm was also recovered at the scene.
The two men were charged in connection to the shooting.
Two victims survived their injuries.
