New Bedford Police Investigating Weld Square Robbery

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating a reported robbery in the Weld Square area.

At around 7:12 p.m. on Sunday, a man told police that he was approached in his car by someone in another vehicle in the area of Weld and Purchase Streets. The man allegedly showed a weapon and robbed the victim of cash before fleeing.

Police did not say whether a description of the suspect was provided.
