NEW BEDFORD — No injuries have been reported in a South End New Bedford shooting on Monday.

New Bedford police spokesperson Lt. Scott Carola confirmed that at around noon, South End patrol units responded to the area of County Street near the intersection with Fair Street for a ShotSpotter activation.

Officers arrived to find that a male suspect had gotten out of a vehicle and fired shots at another male, who was on the east sidewalk, Carola said.

According to Carola, no injuries have been reported, although he said there was damage to a vehicle nearby.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
