New Bedford Police Investigating Report of Armed Robbery

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place early this morning.

Police responded at about 2:30 this morning to a report of a woman who said she was robbed in the area of the Weld Street exit ramp off Route 18.

The woman told police she suffered an injury to her arm after a man approached her, cut her arm with an unknown object, and then stole money from her.

She was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with a minor injury. The incident is under investigation.
