New Bedford Police Investigating Pair of Robberies

NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating a pair of reported robberies in New Bedford over the weekend.

Police say that at about 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, a woman reported that she was approached by a man in the area of 75 Crapo Street. The male allegedly displayed a handgun and took the woman's handbag.

Later Saturday night, at about 9:07 p.m., another woman reported to police that a male grabbed her pocketbook and removed it from her in the area of 61 Madeira Avenue.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
