New Bedford Police Investigating Armed Robbery Report, Threatening Phone Call
NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating a possible armed robbery of a city convenience store, as well as a subsequent threatening phone call.
Wednesday night at 11:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Tedeschi's and Dunkin' Donuts located at 450 Ashley Boulevard.
The report stated that an individual entered the store, demanded money and then fled on foot. A witness stated the person may have had a weapon. The suspect was also reportedly masked.
No injuries were reported.
About two hours later, a threatening phone call was placed to the store. Police believe the call was connected to the robbery.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
