New Bedford Police Investigate Reported Robbery and Assault

NEW BEDFORD — Police were called to the 1400 block of Acushnet Avenue early Sunday morning on the report of a robbery and assault.

The victim told officers that his wallet was stolen, and he was hit in the face as he was walking home from Jalice Cafe.

Police determined that the man did not require medical attention.

No description of possible suspects were given. Police are investigating.
