NEW BEDFORD — Police were called to a home on at 115 Hillman Street late on Monday on the report of a home invasion.

The occupant told officers that a woman had entered her home without her permission.  She then reported that money was missing.

In a subsequent encounter with the intruder, the woman told police that she was struck with an object believed to be a hypodermic needle.

Police say the the woman was able to provide many details about the intruder.

Charges would include nighttime breaking and entering, larceny, and aggravated assault with a hypodermic needle and syringe.
