New Bedford Police Investigate New Year’s Day Shots Fired Incident

NEW BEDFORD - A report of gunshots on New Year's Day in New Bedford is under investigation.

Police say the city's gunshot detection system, Shotspotter, was activated at around 1:30 p.m. Monday in the area of 145 Summer Street.

Responding officers were unable to locate any evidence that shots had been fired.
