NEW BEDFORD — Members of the New Bedford Police Department narcotics unit arrested two people Wednesday during an investigation into street-level narcotics sales in the city's West End.

Police observed two individuals in a car parked in the area of Elm and Liberty Streets engaged in behavior consistent with drug use.

The individuals were found with a small amount of crack cocaine and heroin.

Christopher Raposo, 31, of 155 Caroline Street, New Bedford, was arrested for possession of cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Richard A. Moniz-Faria, 30, of 121 Hathaway Street, Apartment 2R, New Bedford, was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
