New Bedford Police Arrest Two, Break Up Cocaine Distribution Service
NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police have broken up a cocaine distribution service in the city.
Officers with the Narcotics Division raided a Rivet Street apartment Wednesday, seizing 12.6 grams of crack cocaine and $1,092 dollars in cash, and arresting the two occupants of the home.
Arrested during the execution of a search warrant were:
- Dominic Jordan Barrett, 30, of 492 Rivet St., Apt. 3
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, subsequent offense based on a 2008 conviction, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
- Jasmine A. Carrasquillo, 24, of 492 Rivet St., Apt. 3,
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine)
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
- Conspiracy to violate drug laws
- Improperly storing a firearm
- Unlawful possession of ammunition
- Possession a firearm without an identification card.
Carrasquillo faces the additional firearms charges as the continuing investigation turned up a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver and 62 rounds of ammunition along with a digital scale in another location in New Bedford.
The couple is being arraigned Thursday in New Bedford District Court.
