New Bedford Police Arrest Man on Active Warrant Over the Weekend

NEW BEDFORD — A man was arrested by New Bedford Police Sunday afternoon on an active warrant and for drug possession.

New Bedford Police say an officer observed an individual known to have a warrant, 40-year-old Derek Maki, of 71 Division Street, in the 300-block of Pleasant Street at about 1:45 p.m.

Officers subsequently found Maki in possession of crack cocaine placed him under arrest.

Maki was charged with possession of a class B substance and on a warrant.
