
New Bedford Police Arrest Man After Drugs Found in Soda Can
NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after police find drugs stashed in a soda can.
New Bedford Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at 14 Cottage Street at around 7:43 p.m. Monday following an investigation. Inside the home, police found a Coca-Cola can in the basement containing 1.3 grams of fentanyl. Police also found drug packaging materials and $623 in cash.
Police arrested the occupant of the home, Cody Fernandes, 31.

Fernandes is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug and a subsequent offense.
Fernandes was convicted of dealing fentanyl in 2012.
