NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man has been arrested on firearms and drug distribution charges in the city's South End.

On August 18, New Bedford Police Gang and Narcotics Unit detectives assigned to the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 53 Ruth Street, Unit 3. The target of the search, police said, was Damarion Woodley, 18, who was arrested at the scene.

As a result of the search, police said they discovered a 9mm firearm, eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, 45 rounds of .45-caliber ammunition, 17.6 grams of crack cocaine, one Percocet, 42.7 grams of marijuana, scales, packaging materials, and $838 in cash.
