New Bedford Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Boy With Stolen Gun
NEW BEDFORD — Police in New Bedford arrested a 14-year-old boy on gun charges after finding him with a stolen gun on Friday.
Police said detectives assigned to the city police department's Narcotics and Gang Units learned on Aug. 13 that a child had a .22 caliber handgun near the Temple Landing housing development.
After seeing the boy at the junction of Chancery and Middle Streets, the detectives stopped and searched him.

Police said they found a loaded .22 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol in a cross body bag he was wearing.
The gun was later found to have been stolen out of Rochester, according to police.
The boy was arrested by Det. Samuel Algarin-Mojica.
No further information about the incident was released.
