NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery in New Bedford.

Police received a report of a man who said he was in his driveway at 240 Phillips Avenue at 10:09 p.m. on Friday when he was approached by a man who displayed what appeared to be a handgun. The suspect demanded the victim's wallet. the suspect punched the man and then fled.

A spokeswoman for the New Bedford Police Department did not confirm if the victim had turned his wallet over to the suspect. However, police logs indicate that the incident was recorded as a robbery and not an attempted robbery.

Police say no injuries were reported as a result of the robbery.

No suspects have been arrested.
