New Bedford Plays Baseball in 1892 — WBSM Pic of the Week

Welcome to our latest installment on WBSM.com, our pic of the week. We have paried up with Spinner Publications to show off some of the rich history that the New Bedford area has to offer. 

This picture is of a turn of the century baseball league. Believe it or not this game is being played on Union Street in 1892. We aren't exactly sure where on Union Street, but you can bet that it would be hard to put a baseball field in Downtown New Bedford in this day and age.
