New Bedford Pair Charged in Robbing and Assault of Elderly Woman

NEW BEDFORD — Police responded to the area of Acushnet Avenue and Kensington Street on a report of a fight.

In the course of the fight, the suspects took a cell phone from the victims and struck one of the victims, an 80-year-old woman.

Police arrested Travis Dutra, 38, of Kensington Street in New Bedford on charges of unarmed robbery and assault and battery on a person over 60.

Police also arrested Kristen Durocher, 34, of Kensington Street in New Bedford on charges of unarmed robbery, assault and battery and assault and battery on a person over 60.

The arrests were made at about 7 p.m. Monday.
