New Bedford Officers Pull Body From Water
NEW BEDFORD — Emergency responders pulled a body from the waters off State Pier in New Bedford Harbor last night, but the victim has not yet been identified.
Police said that at around 8 p.m. on Aug. 12, patrol and marine officers responded to a call about a person floating in the water near the state pier at the city's waterfront.
The officers removed the victim from the water and initiated life-saving measures.

But the person was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, according to police.
New Bedford and Massachusetts State Police detectives are investigating the incident.
Police said that foul play is not suspected at this point.
No further details — including the identity of the victim — have been released.
