Updated (8:48 a.m. July 15) — The story has been updated to reflect that multiple sources have said the male motorcycle driver died on scene.

NEW BEDFORD — A crash between a motorcycle and an SRTA bus has been reported at the intersection of County and Mill Streets just outside downtown New Bedford earlier this morning.

Multiple sources report that the man driving the motorcycle was found dead at the scene.

According to WBSM's Brian Thomas at the scene, the motorcyclist appears to have been pinned under the bus, although law enforcement and bus officials have yet to confirm details.

A red covering has been draped over part of the bus.

The intersection of Route 6 and County Street has been closed to traffic.

Thomas said that state police are on the scene.

No further information has yet been released.
