New Bedford Man Suffers Fatal Overdose

NEW BEDFORD — A 51-year-old man suffered a fatal overdose Wednesday at his home in New Bedford.

According to New Bedford Police Department logs, the victim was found at 7:30 p.m. at 132 Tallman Street.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the deceased is a 51-year-old male who was living at the address. Spokesman Gregg Miliote says the man died of an apparent opiate overdose. Miliote says the man was found unresponsive in the basement of the home with a syringe in his hand.
