A New Bedford man was stabbed in the arm by two men Thursday night, one of them reportedly wearing a "scary" Halloween mask.

Police say the 23-year-old victim reported the stabbing took place in the area of Katherine and Bonney Streets. He told police one of the men pushed him into a fence and told him to hand over money. When the victim told the assailant he had no money, one of the men slashed his arm with a knife. The victim was able to fight off a second attack. He refused medical treatment.
