A New Bedford man is recovering after overdosing while onboard a SRTA bus.

New Bedford Police tell WBSM News the 39-year-old man was treated with two doses of Narcan after overdosing on heroin on the bus at Spring and Purchase Streets before 10am Tuesday morning.

Police say the man regained consciousness after the second dose of Narcan and the use of an oxygen mask. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital.

The man told police he had snorted heroin before he boarded the bus.
