NEW BEDFORD — Two people, including a sixteen-year-old juvenile, have been arrested in connection to an unarmed robbery in New Bedford.

New Bedford Police Detectives patrolling in the South End of the city on May 10 at approximately 11 p.m. when they received a report of a robbery in the 100-block of County Street.

Lt. Detective Scott Carola, Detective Kevin Lawless, Detective Scott Conceicao, and Officer Jordan Ferriera responded to the scene of the reported crime and interviewed a male victim who stated he had been robbed of money by two male suspects. The victim told police the suspects reached into his pockets and stole a significant amount of money.

While the victim was speaking with detectives, the two suspects were seen returning to the area of the incident. They were identified as the individuals who had robbed the victim.

Police arrested the pair, identified as Dawan Tamlin Johnson, 22, of 139 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, and a sixteen-year-old male juvenile.

Johnson and the juvenile have been charged with unarmed robbery. They were scheduled to be arraigned in New Bedford District Court on Monday.
