New Bedford Man Facing Drug Trafficking And Weapons Charges
Drug trafficking and weapons charges have been filed against a New Bedford man following his arrest Monday night.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says at 6:30 p.m. members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 10 Grandfield St. Apt. 2.
This action followed an investigation into a cocaine delivery service that was allegedly being run out of the residence.
The target of the investigation, identified as 21-year-old Jonathan Hernandez, was arrested after his 2010 Nissan Altima was spotted leaving his home.
Vicente says his right to operate a motor vehicle is currently suspended.
A search of the home was also conducted where Vicente says officers seized 2 ½ ounces of marijuana, 120 grams of cocaine, and $1651 in cash.
Vicente says detectives also found a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, that was reported stolen out of Fall River earlier this month, loaded with 5 rounds of ammunition, in addition to 6 more rounds that were found nearby.
Hernandez was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning in New Bedford District Court.
