New Bedford Man Faces Trafficking Charges

A New Bedford man is facing drug charges after a Friday morning search of his apartment.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says at 11:30 a.m. members of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 47 Acushnet Avenue Apartment Three following an investigation.

During the search over $2,600 in cash, 119 grams of cocaine, digital scales and packaging materials were found.

The target of the investigation, 20-year-old Joshua Travassos, was already in custody at district court lock-up after being arrested Thursday night on an unrelated manner.

Travassos will face charges of Trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams.
