
New Bedford Man Dead of Apparent Overdose on Cocktail of Drugs
NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man has died from what appears to be a fatal combination of drugs.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the 33-year-old man was found unresponsive in his apartment on Chancery Street by his girlfriend at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. The man was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where he died less than an hour later.
A toxicology on the man's body is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
A spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the man died from a cocktail of drugs that included cocaine, heroin, and prescription medications.
Police found cut straws and white powdery substances near the victim at the scene.
