New Bedford Man Charged with Intimidating Police Officer
NEW BEDFORD — Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on West Rodney French Boulevard and Brock Avenue intersection.
When police approached the vehicle, a passenger yelled at officers, threw an object at them and refused to identify himself. An open bottle of alcohol was located under his seat.
Joel Rodrigues, 31, of Purchase Street in New Bedford, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, intimidating a police officer, possession of an open container of alcohol, providing false identification to a police officer and failing to wear a seat belt.
The arrest was made at 2:58 a.m. Sunday.
