New Bedford Man Arrested on Heroin, Cocaine Charges
NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man is arrested following an investigation into a heroin distribution operation out of his Aquidneck Street address.
Members of the New Bedford Police narcotics unit arrested 31-year-old Jorge Torres of 222 Aquidneck Street, Apartment 3 Monday.
A search warrant was executed at his address and police found 1.9 grams of heroin, 6.5 grams of cocaine, packaging materials and $264.
Torres was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
He was convicted in 2006 of possession of a Class B substance, making this charge a subsequent offense.
