DARTMOUTH - A New Bedford man is charged after police say he broke into a Dartmouth home on Easter Sunday night.

Dartmouth Police responded to 121 Rogers Street in South Dartmouth for a reported break in progress. While officers were checking the first floor apartment of the multi-family home, they found a male suspect hiding in a bedroom closet.

Police arrested the man, 32-year-old Cristhian Xaiver Escobar of North Street in New Bedford.

Escobar is charged with breaking and entering and trespassing. He also had five outstanding arrest warrants.
