New Bedford Man Arrested for Hitting Parked Car, Fleeing

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man is arrested after police say he struck a parked car and then fled the scene.

New Bedford Police responded Wednesday at 8 p.m. to a report that a vehicle had struck a parked car in the 60-block of Deane Street.

Witnesses reported the vehicle then fled the scene, and was observed driving erratically. Police located the vehicle and determined the damage matched that of the struck vehicle.

Police arrested 27-year-old Jairo-David Recinos-Cubias of 117 Collette Street, Apartment 1 in New Bedford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
