
New Bedford Man Arrested for Drug Deal in Fairhaven Walmart Parking Lot
FAIRHAVEN — Fairhaven Police Detectives arrest a New Bedford man, after observing a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the Walmart parking lot.
Police say they observed the transaction just before 1 p.m. Tuesday. They subsequently executed a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Michael Correia of 856 South First Street in New Bedford.
During the stop, police seized approximately 17 grams of fentanyl, and a small amount of cash.
Correia was charged with trafficking in fentanyl, distribution of a Class B substance, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. He will be arraigned in New Bedford District Court.
