New Bedford Man Arrested for Brandishing Machete During Argument

NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after threatening another person with a machete at a West End apartment.

New Bedford Police say an argument between two people had occurred at a 307 Mill Street apartment between two parties. At some point in the argument, 55-year-old Juan Talavera, of that address, brandished a machete and threatened the other person.

Talavera was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
