New Bedford Man Arrested After Stabbing Driver Through Car Window
NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after allegedly stabbing another man through the open driver's side window of his car.
The victim told police he was driving in the area of Irvington Court and Acushnet Avenue before 3 p.m. Wednesday when a man in another car stepped out of his vehicle and stabbed him in the left shoulder. The victim said he recognized his assailant.
The injury was not life-threatening and the victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
New Bedford Police issued a "be on the lookout" alert for the vehicle the suspect had been driving. The car was soon found by Fairhaven Police at Fort Phoenix. Police arrested the driver, Isaiah Burnett, 29, of New Bedford, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
