New Bedford Man, Already on Parole, Arrested on 24 New Gun and Drug Charges
NEW BEDFORD — A man already on parole is arrested on 24 new offenses relating to possession of firearms and narcotics.
Wednesday, February 13 at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the New Bedford Police Narcotics Division raided 46 Scott Street, Apartment 1 in New Bedford at that location as part of an investigation. The resident of that address, 30-year-old Curtis Dean Ferreira, had a warrant out for his arrest. He was already on parole for drug trafficking charges.
At the time of his arrest, Ferreira was found to be in possession of three illegal firearms: a Beretta, a Taurus and a Glock 21. He was also found in possession of crack cocaine, oxycodone and suboxone.
Ferreira is charged with multiple firearms violations, including three counts of possession of a firearm without a license; three counts of improper storage of a weapon, including one charge relating to a large-capacity firearm; and eight charges of unlawful possession of ammunition.
He also faces multiple narcotics charges, including trafficking in opium 36 grams or more; possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance; possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, subsequent offense; two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance; and three counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, subsequent offense.
He also faces a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license.
