The Governor's Council today will interview New Bedford attorney Kimberly Moses Smith.

SouthCoast Governor's Councilor Joseph Ferreira will preside over Moses Smith's public interview in Boston. The proceedings, scheduled for 1 p.m., can be watched live on YouTube.

Moses Smith in September was nominated to the Probate and Family Court bench by Governor Charlie Baker. She is managing partner of the law firm Moses Smith, Markey & Walsh LLC, and is the current president of the New Bedford Bar Association.

If confirmed, Moses Smith, the daughter of retired Superior Court Judge Richard Moses, would replace Whaling City native Judge Peter Smola in the probate court.

A Providence College and New England Law-Boston grad, Moses Smith is a past president of the Bristol County Bar Association and is an active community volunteer in the town of Dartmouth.
