Jonathan Sprouts Opens New Retail Space in New Bedford

It's a milestone year for local company Jonathan Sprouts.

The family-run business known for its high-quality, certified organic sprouts and skincare is currently in its 50th year.

There has been a of of growth over the past five decades as the company continues to provide healthy, beneficial products to the masses.

Jonathan Sprouts' Grand Opening in New Bedford

On Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Jonathan Sprouts gets a little bigger as it officially opens its new retail location.

"We'll have swag bags for everybody that comes. We'll have giveaways, raffles, wrap and sprout salads, so come hungry," Marketing Director Madison DeMelo said. "And the whole store is 20 percent off."

Jonathan Sprouts' New Space

Set inside Kilburn Mill at Clarks Cove in New Bedford, the new space will offer a wide variety of products that coincide with Jonathan Sprouts' mission to promote a sprout lifestyle, both inside and out.

That's something president and owner Liz Reilley believes in.

"You can't get a retail space like this anywhere. It's not just high ceilings, it's double high ceilings and beautiful sunlight, large windows, there's so much history in this building," Reilley said.

The new space is full of charm, and while you're there it's so much more than grabbing your favorite products.

"It's just a fun place to hang out. It's not a mall. It's got an amazing energy to it," Reilley said.

Sample the products and even enjoy a sprout salad with your friends. Salad toppings, dressings and seeds are also sold in the space.

In fact, Reilley and DeMelo shared a few of their best sellers with us.

"I love the aloe oil. It is a very light, all-over moisturizer," Reilley said.

How about something for the men?

"I always have them start with therapy soap, and therapy cream is great for aftershave," Reilley said.

Looking for a product that will do the work overnight? Try the salve.

"It's the most delicious moisturizer," Reilly said. "Put that on at night and you will wake up with the softest skin you ever had in your life."

"Men also use it after their tattoos," DeMelo added. "That's a great product to put on after their nice sleeves are all done."

The new Jonathan Sprouts location will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
