Getting late-night food on the SouthCoast has changed over the years. Back in the day, if you were someone leaving the New Bedford bars and didn’t quite want the night to end, you probably ended up at the Golden Greek.

These days, the Golden Greek is out of the late-night game, but a new player has entered the chat.

Jam Session Brings Late-Night Flavor to New Bedford

Jay Brooks, owner of Toast N' Jam in New Bedford, told Fun 107's MGM Show that there is a real void in the local late-night food scene. Brooks has found success over the past year with his creative breakfast and lunch menu on Acushnet Avenue. Now, he's launching a spinoff called Jam Session, designed specifically for the after-midnight crowd.

What’s on the Jam Session Menu

“We’re going to start by offering wings and smash burgers until 2 a.m.,” Brooks said. “Customers can place orders for pickup or delivery through Grubhub and Uber Eats.”

The initial rollout will focus on delivery and takeout only. If the model works, Brooks said he may expand to offer full-service breakfast late into the night.

Why Late-Night Dining Needs a Comeback

“People still love to go out at night and have a few drinks,” Brooks said. “Now, we’ll bring the food right to you.”

Brooks acknowledged that running a restaurant during the overnight hours brings new challenges, especially around crowd control, but he is taking a slow and steady approach to this new venture.

When and Where to Order

The Jam Session menu will be served daily from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., with pickup available from Toast N' Jam on Acushnet Avenue and delivery through third-party platforms.  Brooks expects the new menu to be ready in the next week or so.
