Attention book lovers, the first-ever New Bedford Book Festival will take on March 5 and 6 on Purchase Street.

According to South Coast Today.com, admission is free for the festival and published and self-published authors, publishing houses, book sellers, and zines are invited to showcase their work from 11am to 4pm on Saturday March 5 and Sunday March 6.

Also, the fest will feature special readings.

Award-winning journalist, Lauren Daley, will be there at 2pm, Saturday, March 5, for a BookLovers talk and Question & Answer session.

Signing up for a local table to promote your work will continue up until February 21 and the fee is $45 for both days.

The event takes place at Groundworks, which is located at 1213 Purchase Street, just outside downtown New Bedford, near Glaser Glass, and accessible from Routes 195 and 18.
