The Bronspiegel Auditorium at New Bedford High School was packed Tuesday night, as the Evening School held commencement exercises.

138 students were part of the Class of 2013, the 50th in the night program's history.

Graduate John Velho is planning to study criminal justice. He says joining the night program was positive experience.

The Evening Extension Program allows students to return to school to finish classes and receive their high school diploma, or certificate. Over six thousand students have received their diplomas through the program since it started in 1963.
