A New Bedford High School junior who found her purpose in life is looking to help others to do the same.

16-year-old Cierra Vicente founded the "Here for a Purpose" program, after losing several friends to suicide. Speaking on WBSM's "Taylor Cormier Show", Cierra says she feels if more young people knew their calling in life, they wouldn't be so quick to find a way out.

Cierra is holding a concert this weekend to benefit suicide prevention programs and kickstart her initiative as well. The "Here for a Purpose" benefit concert will feature dinner, live music from a variety of local artists, and much more. It takes place from 6-11pm Saturday night at the Masonic Lodge at 435 County Street in New Bedford.
