New Bedford High School students and teachers have stepped into the 21st century.

Twenty classrooms at the high school have been outfitted with interactive Promethean white boards, along with laptop computers, and other interactive technologies.

Acting Superintendent Michael Shea tells WBSM News the Promethean Board is similar to what children are using everyday with tablets and smartphones.

The school district was able to purchase the technology through the mayor's addition of $1million for the school department in his Fiscal Year 2013 Budget. The district was also able to purchase adequate textbooks and other tools to help students succeed.
