NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford High School's graduation ceremony has been postponed by one day due to poor field conditions caused by rainstorms this week, officials announced Wednesday.

The ceremony for the Class of 2022 was originally set to take place on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. — but now it's scheduled for Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m. on Walsh Field.

District officials made the call to postpone the graduation ceremony for 24 hours due to heavy rain on Wednesday morning and downpours in the forecast for Thursday, the announcement read.

Postponing the event will allow students to rehearse in dry conditions and give crews enough time to set up, officials said.

Graduating seniors are asked to report to the high school on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. for rehearsal.
