New Bedford Firefighters Receive Anonymous Pizza Delivery After Tough Day
At David’s Restaurant on Church Street in New Bedford, a simple pizza order turned into something much bigger.
On Monday, October 13, waitresses Nicole Albano and Narissa Badillo were working their shift when an unusual DoorDash order came through: a dozen pizzas and several other food items, all bound for a nearby New Bedford fire station. The order was fully paid for and marked anonymous.
Albano, touched by the gesture, later shared the story on Facebook:
“At David's Restaurant today, we fulfilled an order for a dozen pizzas and other food items intended for the local fire station, symbolizing a gesture of gratitude for their unwavering dedication and a hard day at work. When the fire station contacted us to inquire about the identity of the person responsible for the order, I indicated that it was an anonymous individual who sought to acknowledge the firefighters' selfless efforts and the difficulties they encountered today.”

A Mystery of Kindness
The firefighters, surprised and thankful, called the restaurant looking to identify the good Samaritan.

Albano explained that the person wished to remain anonymous. They simply wanted to thank the first responders for their service and to brighten their day after responding to a difficult call earlier.
Gratitude From One First Responder to Another
“The individual was so happy, sharing that they were also a first responder,” Albano said. “This encounter underscores the presence of compassionate individuals within our community. We extend our thoughts and prayers to those impacted by today’s accident and express our deepest gratitude to all first responders for their tireless commitment.”
It was a small act with a big impact, a reminder that even on the hardest days, kindness can arrive in the form of a pizza box.
