NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford man was arrested after a raid of his apartment turned up drugs and firearms, including a handgun that was reportedly stolen out of Connecticut.

On Wednesday, July 21, detectives from the New Bedford Police Narcotics and Gang Units executed a search warrant at 80 Adams Street, Apartment 3 and arrested the target of the search, Glenn Lopes, 28.

Police say the arrest came after the search of the apartment turned up 18 grams of cocaine, 69 bags of fentanyl, 195 grams of packaged marijuana, $810 in cash, a loaded .22-caliber rifle, and a loaded .380-caliber handgun that was later found to have been stolen out of Connecticut.

Lopes is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine; possession with intent to distribute heroin; possession with intent to distribute marijuana; two counts of possession of a firearm without license; possession of ammunition, receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.

The lead investigator was Detective Jordan Dasilva.
